I feel like a broken record, but it’s true—Canva makes design life so much easier. In fact, if you need to create flashing text, you can do so in a matter of minutes, perhaps seconds.
It all depends on whether or not you already have your design created in Canva, or if you need to start fresh from scratch.
Meaning the actual flashing text portion of your design is a piece of cake, and I’ll show you a couple ways of going about it.
How to Create Flashing Text
To create flashing text, create different pages for each different “flash” effect. Meaning, think of each page that you create as a different animation frame. If you want your text to rotate between three different flashes you have to create three different pages for your design. Then, download as a GIF, and upload for use on your platform of choice.
Here is an example.
I’m creating a “sale” graphic, and I’d like each of the three references of “sale” to flash throughout the GIF I’m going to create with Canva.
So, I’m going to create two page copies of my design, giving me three pages in total. To do so yourself, just hit this stacked “duplicate” item icon twice:
After doing so you should have three pages/frames as follows:
Page/Frame 1
To start, I have the top “sale” in a neon effect.
Page/Frame 2
Then, for the next frame, I want the second “sale” to flash, so I simply remove the effect from the first reference and then add it to the second.
Page/Frame 3
To end, I then apply the effect to the third “sale” while removing it from the second.
Now I have three animation frames! Go to download, and then click GIF:
The end result:
Now, this is about as simple as you can get! Actually, a two-frame would be easier, and would look like this (I added an extra graphic!):
And that’s it! Simple, yet open to tons of freedom with your design. If you want a video of the process, it’s below! Please let me know if you run into any challenges!
Or, just pay $5 or so for someone on Fiverr to create whatever it is you need for you. I’ve definitely swallowed my pride a few times and just hired a freelancer on Fiverr for quick turnaround, and often receiving something better than I could have done myself.
